The Northern Georgian Society celebrates
Georgian polyphonic singing
by raising awareness of the choral and folk traditions through workshops,
performance
and supras (a Georgian feast) with a view to strengthening
relationships and cultural understanding between the UK and Georgia.
NGS aims to link together existing Georgian choirs and other musical
groups in the UK and Georgia by providing opportunites to meet, learn
and perform together.
NGS provides a communication and organisation service for touring
programmes, venues, media links, transport and information about
existing established contacts across the UK for singing ensembles and
individuals from Georgia.
People are welcome to join the society if they have an interest in
Georgian music or culture. There are no membership fees.
